About the place
The hotel opened in September 2024 as the first Swissôtel in Romania and the first five-star hotel in Poiana Brașov, built by the developer Neagoe Basarab Residences in partnership with the Accor group. The architecture draws on the Transylvanian villages of Viscri and Șona: stone from Sălaj, handmade ceramics from Viscri, blue glass from Mediaș, timber and lime-plastered walls. It opened with 64 rooms and apartments, looking out over the forest or the mountains.
The Pürovel Spa & Sport has an indoor pool, indoor and outdoor jacuzzis, a sauna and a gym; there is also the Artegianale restaurant and a bar with mountain views. The gondola and the Kanzel cable car are about 250 m away. On Google it has 4.6 from about 490 reviews, which praise the staff, the large rooms and the restaurant; a few guests find the spa and the gym small, and the breakfast poor value.
