They take you effortlessly up the Postăvarul ridge, with views over Brașov and the Bârsa plain, and one of them also runs outside the ski season.
About the place
The Capra Neagră cable car is about 2.8 km long, the Kanzel cable car about 2.4 km and the Postăvarul Expres gondola, with eight-seat cabins, about 2.1 km, according to the tourist information centre and OpenStreetMap. All belong to the operator Ana Teleferic. At the top stands Yager Chalet, the old gondola's former station, turned into a chalet with a restaurant in 2020, and at the Kanzel top station a pub is open from 9:00 to 16:00.
In the ski season all of them run, usually from 9:00 to 16:00. In summer 2026 the gondola ran from July on Fridays to Sundays, for hikers and the Postăvarul Bike Park. On 7 November 2026 the operator's page showed only the Capra Neagră cable car open, from 9:00 to 16:00; the opening date of the winter season had not been announced.
Good to know
- Check on discoverpoiana.ro which lift is running on the day you come: on 7 November 2026 only the Capra Neagră cable car was.
- It is colder and windier at the top; in strong wind the lifts can stop, as the gondola did in winter 2025–2026.
- From the top stations you can walk up Postăvarul peak or down to the Postăvarul hut.
