It is a short, easy walk through the forest that ends in a meadow open towards Postăvarul, with a hut dating from 1935.
About the place
The meadow lies at about 1,070 m in the Postăvarul massif. From the Trei Brazi hut it is about 20 minutes on foot along an easy path through conifer forest, marked with a yellow stripe and suitable for children; you can also drive up on the road that continues past Trei Brazi.
The hut was founded in 1935, and its rooms were renovated in early 2023. The restaurant cooks Romanian and Székely food, such as Székely goulash in a cauldron over a wood fire, according to its website. The website has not been updated since 2023, so phone before you go if you want to eat or stay.
Good to know
- Phone the hut first (0739 033 156): we found no 2026 information on its opening.
- In good weather, walk from Trei Brazi: the path is short and suits children.
- In winter the meadow stays under snow for a long time; wear waterproof shoes.
