Since May 2026 it also has the Forest Museum, approved by the Ministry of Culture, with more than 1,300 exhibits, and the dinosaur trail stays open in winter.
About the place
The park opened in 2015 and has more than 130 life-size dinosaur reconstructions, some animatronic, moving and roaring. They include Hatzegopteryx, the flying reptile found in the Hațeg region, the 45-metre Seismosaurus and a reconstruction of the dinosaur egg nest from Tuștea. The ticket covers the Forest Museum, with minerals, fossils, petrified wood and skeletons of extinct mammals, the tree-house exhibitions, the interactive volcano and the playgrounds.
The park is open all year. From November to March it opens Monday to Thursday 10:00–17:00, Friday and Sunday 10:00–17:30 and Saturday 10:00–18:00; from April to October it closes an hour later. The 9D cinema, adventure trails, small train and laser maze cost extra, and some depend on the weather. A visit takes 2–3 hours.
Good to know
- Tickets can also be bought online, to skip the queue at weekends.
- The trail runs through forest with slopes: wear comfortable shoes, and warm clothes in winter.
- Combine the visit with lunch at Sub Cetate Sergiana, next to the entrance, and the walk up to the fortress garden.
