Its interior keeps the Baroque painted gallery, the 1693 altar and an hourglass on the pulpit, and work on the north-west tower was finished in March 2026.
About the place
The Gothic hall church, with a western tower and a polygonal chancel, dates from the 14th century and was prepared for defence in 1495, with wooden fighting storeys over the tower, nave and chancel. The vaults were removed during renovation in the early 19th century, but the tower kept its medieval form. Of the three towers of the ring wall, two survive; part of the wall was pulled down in 1888 to make room for a school.
Inside, the wooden gallery on three sides is painted in Baroque style, and the winged altar of 1693 has the 1914 organ above it. On the pulpit stands an hourglass with four glass cylinders, used to time the sermon. The tower roof was repaired in 2023, and in March 2026 work on the north-west tower ended, with a new floor, wooden lining and railing.
